Well, I'm completely over the huge NYE hype so we made a fantastic dinner at Suraj's and then went out afterwards...
Appetizers (by Laurie)
-sauteed garlic & mushroom crostini
-citrus shrimp & bell pepper crostini
Butternut squash & ginger soup with rosemary sprigs (by Paul)
Mediterranean Salad (by Suraj)
Herbed rib roast w/ garlic roasted potatoes, carrots, and parsnips (by Paul)
Chocolate caramel from Vosges (thanks Brian!!)
Chocolate covered strawberries from Godiva (by Beena)
...and plenty of champagne and wine to keep us flowing until the countdown.
Even though Beena showed up 3 hours (fashionably) late, she managed to catch up to the rest of us in no time.
We watched the countdown from Suraj's couch instead of paying $50 to go to some bar and drink cheap champagne but ended up sitting on the couch for another couple hours while we figured out a place to go... progressively getting more and more tipsy.
Finally ended up at the Hiro Ballroom and happily hung out there until last call...
vaguely remember a vodka shot (?) joined the rest of the bleary eyed stumbling passengers on the subway home...
Hope the rest of the year is full of all that happy mushy stuff!
